The results
A risky migration turned into measurable growth
Kødhuset wanted to move its online store from Dandomain to Shopify — a move that can easily cost both rankings and traffic if it is not handled correctly. Working with Kødhuset, acend handled redirect mapping and the correct setup of 301 redirects, so the migration not only avoided losing traffic, but resulted in higher traffic, a better conversion rate and a significantly better user experience.
Over the course of the work, the number of relevant keywords on page 1 grew from 350 to 1,050, and monthly organic traffic more than tripled from 5,000 to 16,500 visitors.
These results cover the period November 2023 – December 2024.

The problem
Three challenges at the same time
Kødhuset faced three different challenges at the same time.
01 —A risky platform migration
Moving from Dandomain to Shopify is a change that typically costs rankings and traffic if redirects and 301 setup are not handled precisely.
02 —Strong, established competition
Kødhuset already had a relatively good position, but its competitors had held their rankings for a long time. This called for a strategy that capitalised on the site's existing strengths while identifying genuine growth opportunities.
03 —Low domain authority
Kødhuset had a number of backlinks, but low domain authority (DR), which limited how highly the site could rank even with strong content.

The solution
Growth came from an integrated system
Four modules feeding into the same engine: keyword strategy, a controlled migration, content with genuine value and a technical foundation that can support growth.

Technical SEO & link building
Keyword research & strategy
We started with detailed keyword research that identified keywords with high search volume and manageable competition — including low-hanging fruit, relevant categories that drive sales, and a primary keyword for the homepage: "buy meat online." Today, Kødhuset ranks highly for key terms such as "meat online", generating significant organic traffic alongside transactional keywords that directly drive sales.
Migration & redirects
We moved the store together with Kødhuset, with a particular focus on redirect mapping and the correct setup of 301 redirects. The result was no lost traffic — instead, higher traffic, better conversion and a better user experience after the move.
Helpful content
The goal has been content that genuinely helps visitors, not just SEO copy for its own sake. On category pages, we have not simply written 300–500 words about, for example, "Minced beef", but added answers to the questions visitors actually have, while optimising for the long-tail keywords uncovered by the initial research. The approach is built around Google's focus on "helpful content" and the requirements for E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust).
Technical SEO & link building
Following the migration to Shopify, we have focused on site speed, which affects both search engines and the user experience — a slow site rarely converts. Ongoing audits keep track of broken links, 404 pages and orphan pages, and the URL structure, XML sitemap and robots.txt are configured correctly to give Google the best basis for indexing the site. Alongside this, targeted link building focused on relevant sites with high DR and organic traffic has increased Kødhuset's domain authority.
The partnership
The partnership did not stop at the migration
Close collaboration on the migration
a risky transition from Dandomain to Shopify was handled through close dialogue, ensuring no traffic was lost along the way.
Ongoing technical audits
the site is kept healthy month after month, so broken links, 404 pages and orphan pages do not undermine results.
A long-term collaboration
over a year of continuous work, from November 2023 to December 2024, underpins the results.
